I can’t wait to share this week’s scoop. This is a *very quick* glimpse of my week that goes out to all subscribers. I’ll include a fan-favorite recipe we made in a cooking class, something I’m watching or reading, a recent find, and a “win for the week.
What I’m Cooking
I can't believe my Six-Week Basics series is over! If you want to take this six-week series online with me beginning in January, sign up for the waitlist! In our last class, we focused on appetizers for entertaining. These are back-pocket entertaining recipes I always make for holiday gatherings and parties. Stilton and Honey with Pecans is one of the uncomplicated items you can make as a Thanksgiving or fall appetizer when you have people over. Use a rimmed plate or cake stand because the honey will spread. Add a wedge of Stilton (or creamy blue cheese), a generous amount of good-quality raw honey and a little honeycomb if you can find it (I use the honey and honeycomb we harvest at Kitchenette Farm) and toasted whole pecans. Add thin baguette slices and endive spears or scoop the pecans directly into the cheese and honey. Delicious. I promise you people devour this every time I put it out for a cocktail party.
What I’m Watching
I'm watching English Teacher and it is cracking me up. Set in a public high school in Austin, the teacher-student and teacher-parent dynamic is pretty funny. We also saw The Outsiders on Broadway during our NYC visit last weekend and it was incredible. The music reminded me of Tyler Childers or Zach Bryan. Highly recommend it if you're in the city!
What I’m Coveting
Somehow I went to NYC over the long weekend and didn't purchase a thing. I'm waiting for my favorite duvet from Boll & Branch to go on sale because I need to replace my current one! I wash it once a week, and after several years, it's time for a newbie! I have the white Signature Hemmed Duvet with two shams. It's so soft!
This Week’s Win
