Friday Favorites
Cranberry Baked Brie, cooking music and a comfy pair of heels that actually look good!
Welcome to Friday Favorites! I can’t wait to share this week’s scoop. This is a *very quick* glimpse of my week that goes out to all subscribers. I’ll include a fan-favorite recipe, something I’m watching, reading, or listening to, a recent find, and a “win” for the week.
What I’m Cooking
I've already cooked several Thanksgiving dinners between in-person and online cooking classes. Yesterday, I had a cooking class for paid subscribers and we made Simplified Stuffing, Lemon and Thyme Turkey Breast, and Meyer Lemon Cranberry Sauce. Plus, I was running to a meeting and needed to bring an appetizer, so I threw together Cranberry Baked Brie. Make a double batch of cranberry sauce now so you can make this appetizer stat. Here's a video that shows you how to make it.
What I’m Listening To
As you're in the kitchen cooking this Thanksgiving, feel free to fire up my Cooking Playlist on Spotify. You'll find everything from Leon Bridges to Harry Styles and Etta James.
What I’m Coveting
I just found THE most comfortable pair of leopard print slingback heels. They're an investment, but I've already worn them several times with jeans, leather wide-leg pants, a black silk stretch Veronica Beard skirt, and my favorite TWP white cropped button-down. Created by a foot surgeon, they have a triple-padded sole and they’re shoes you can walk in! I want this pair of burgundy block heels next.
This Week’s Win
Tomorrow, I will have a 21-year-old! How is that possible? The girl who made me a mom, who is so much fun to talk to and travel with, is on the brink of the next chapter of her life. I have to say that I love this phase of parenthood. Being a mom is always an emotional job, but there's a lot of heavy lifting and running around when they're little. My heavy lifting is all of the emotional variety, but I sure love to be with my people.
One more thing! During the Southern C Retreat in Round Top, I had the pleasure of meeting Katie Kime, and I’m honored to be featured on her site today. She attended a dinner I hosted at Kitchenette Farm. I loved hearing her story and vision for her business, especially because I’ve been a fan of her Texas toiles for a long, long time!
