Friday Favorites
Heart-healthy chocolate smoothies, a new book from one of my favorite authors, soft PJs and all my love!
Welcome to Friday Favorites! This is a quick glimpse of my week that goes out to all subscribers (free and paid). I include a fan-favorite recipe we made in a cooking class, something I’m watching, reading, or listening to, a recent find, and a win for the week.
What I’m Cooking
Want something heart-healthy AND full of chocolate? I crave this Chocolate Almond Smoothie (there's also a version in my cookbook) and make variations of it almost every week. My most recent version was full of cinnamon and dates and tasted a little bit like frozen Mexican Hot Chocolate.
You can find all the SITK recipes I’ve shared on Substack in my Recipe Index.
What I’m Reading
This is one of those weeks where I was front-loaded with a video shoot, cooking classes, and meeting daily deadlines. And then, I snuck off for a few days by myself for sleep, work and general quiet time. Any recommendations for what I should add to my reading list? I'd love to tackle a new book while I'm out of town. This week, Jojo Moyes new book came out: We All Live Here. I watched a BBC interview with her online, and her quote (and I'm paraphrasing here) that women "hold up the sky" was the best sort of thing you could stumble upon online.
What I’m Coveting
Cami & Pants PJ Set from Eberjey. My Valentine's gift to myself?! I love Eberjey pajamas and my two daughters sometimes abscond with them. I prefer to sleep in a tank because I get so hot (thank you, middle age). My bedtime routine is an Epson Salt bath (I like this one with eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils) and a double dose of magnesium and chamomile tea. It works like a charm.
This Week’s Win
Extremely grateful this Valentine's Day for the people I love and who love me back.

I really enjoyed reading The Life Impossible by Matt Haig. I also like Richard Osman’s series about the octogenarians solving murders (cozy not gruesome). And if you haven’t read Small Things Like These yet, I thought it was the best book I have read in years.
